Digital Photo Processing Workshop
*The workshop is full! A wait list is available in case someone cancels. Please email Keith to be put on the list.
Have you ever tried to capture a sunrise or sunset and not been satisfied with the results? Was the sky too bright or the foreground too dark? How do photographers get balanced photos where the picture turns out like they saw it? Have you ever seen black and white photos with a little color added to them? How do photographers do it? It isn’t because the photographer is using some incredible camera. It all comes down to filters and special techniques such as exposure blending that can be accomplished in Photoshop. For years, software programs such as Lightoom and Photoshop have been out of the reach of most people because of their cost, but now they are much more affordable at $9.99 per month through Adobe Creative Cloud. Many people can now learn the power of these programs and produce those “like you saw it images.” Would you like to learn how to use these powerful programs?
Keith Bozeman, a nature photographer based in Hartselle, Alabama, will be holding a Digital Photo Processing Workshop on July 29th at the Marriott TownePlace Suites Hotel in Huntsville, Alabama. Keith is a well-published nature photographer. He has been a professional educator for over 18 years. His work can be seen in national calendars such as Brown Trout’s Wild and Scenic wall calendars. He has also been published in Country Magazine, Outdoor Alabama Magazine, and Lookout Alabama Magazine, to name a few. He has conducted many workshops across the State of Alabama and has traveled all across the US capturing the beauty of nature.
Here are some of the topics and skills that will be covered:
Global adjustments of RAW images in Lightroom
Dodging and burning
Vibrance and saturation
Dust spot removal
Creating large panoramics
Creating natural looking 32-bit HDR images
Merging multiple images for exposure using basic layers and masking
Merging multiple images for exposure using luminosity adjustments
Sharpening for print
Requirement for the workshop:
1. Participants must have a laptop or desktop with Lightroom and Photoshop (not Photo Elements) on it. Adobe is offering a $9.99 a month bundle for Lightroom and Photoshop. This is the best deal available.
2. Participants are strongly encouraged to download the luminosity action panel designed by Tony Kuyper. Tony also has a free action panel if you do not want to purchase the full version just yet.
Why this workshop is different:
The workshop has been designed for individualized instruction. Unlike most other workshops, this is not a lecture-based workshop. It will be composed of guided instruction from Keith and independent practice for the student. The instructor will help the student to work on his or her images. This is a hands-on class. If you really want to learn Lightroom and Photoshop, then this is the class for you.
The cost of the workshop will be $125 for the eight hours of instruction. You can pay a $50 deposit to reserve your spot or pay the full amount. Final payments need to be made by July 14th. There will be no refunds issued after July 14th. Click on the link at the bottom of the page to register for the workshop.
